Maoist member arrested, remanded till March 25

A local Maoist group member was remanded to judicial custody till March 25 by a local court here concerning a dozen criminal cases pending against him, police said on Monday.

Dudekula Rayabose(45) who was arrested by Hyderabad police in Guntur district on Sunday, was remanded to judicial custody till March 25 by a Judicial First Class Magistrate here, they said.

Rayabose was later shifted to the Central Prison at Warangal and was reported ill by his family members who met him at the court, they added.

He was working for a local Maoist group for the last 20 years and over half a dozen criminal cases, including the incident where the former MLA Chinna Mallaiah’s vehicle was set on fire were pending against him, police said.

He hails from Keshavapur village in Husnabad mandal of Andhra Pradesh and was also active in neighbouring States of Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Karnataka, police added.
