Nearly 18,000 students from Andhra Pradesh will be vying for seats in Telangana medical colleges this year among the 56,188 candidates taking the test to be held on July 9 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in 95 centres across the two Telugu states.

Students from Andhra Pradesh are eligible for the 15 per cent un-reserved seats (non-local seats) where they have to compete with the local candidates. The remaining 85 per cent seats are exclusively meant for Telangana students.

The TS-EAMCET-II Convenor, N.V. Ramana Rao said that 17,943 students from four centres in Andhra Pradesh will take the test on Sunday. Among these four centres Vijayawada centre has maximum candidates (7542) followed by Vishakapatnam (4100), Tirupati (3591) and Kurnool (2710). Prof. Rao said that all measures have been taken to ensure that there is no malpractice in any centre either in Telangana or Andhra Pradesh.

Hyderabad will see 20,663 students taking the test followed by Warangal and Karimnagar. The test will be conducted in 95 centres and all the centres are located in the Government institutions only.

The Preliminary Key will be released on July 9 and the ranks will be declared on July 14.
