Man pushed to death from train; escape bid proves fatal for accused

In a horrific incident, a passenger who was pushed from a moving train was killed on Tuesday, while the accused who in his bid to avoid being attacked by other passengers jumped to his death. The incident took place at Kondagunta Railway Station near Gudur in Nellore district on Tuesday.

Gudur Railway Sub-Inspector Varaprasad said that an unidentified person pushed one Rehman from the speeding Puri Express and his son Babu. Rehman died instantaneously while an injured Babu was rushed to the DSR district headquarters hospital in Nellore. Rehman along with his son boarded the train at Tenali.

Jumps to death

Enraged passengers tried to attack the accused, who also jumped from the moving train and died. His identity is yet to be established. Police are investigating if there was any altercation between Rehman and the accused before the latter pushed the father-son duo.
