Man attempts suicide by jumping into Tirumala valley

Perturbed at not getting married in time and with his age advancing further, a middle-aged man Srinivasulu (35) native of Gudur mandal in Prakasam district on Wednesday made a vain bid to end his life by jumping into a deep valley in the vicinity of the Akkagarla gudi on the footpath leading to Tirumala.

However other passers-by who heard him snivelling for help in the wee hours of Thursday immediately informed the TTDs Vigilance and security personnel who with the help of the Octopus team rescued him from the valley.

Police said that the youth who got struck to a tree half way in the deep valley suffered serious injuries on his right leg and was immediately rushed to the government run SVRR hospital at Tirupati.

Dejected

Police said that Srinivasulu confessed to have resorted to take the extreme step dejected at not finding any suitable match for him while his two younger brothers led a happy married life.
