Samaikyandhra Parirakshana Vedika, representing all associations, will conduct ‘Maha manavaharam’ from Pydibhimavaram to Itchapuram covering almost 180 km on August 31.APNGOs’ Association State associate president Chowdary Purushottam Naidu, association’s Srikakuam wing president Hanumathu Sairam and other leaders drafted an action plan to make it a grand success.
Inspired by ‘Laksha Gala Ghosha’ in Kurnool, the leaders planned the mega event in which all villagers, students, and employees will form the longest human chain. Villagers of all along the highway have been requested to participate in the chain and raise their voice in favour of the unified State.
Addressing a media conference, APNGOs’ Association secretary Bukkuru Umamaheswara Rao, Vedika convener Jami Bhimashankara Rao and others said that it would be the biggest human chain on the National Highway-16. They hoped that the government would not go forward over the bifurcation process as the people had been relentlessly fighting against the division proposal for the last one month.
Meanwhile, YSR Congress youth wing president Hanumanthu Kirankumar alleged that both Congress and Telugu Desam were responsible for the ongoing chaos in the State. He said that the people would not believe the two parties as their policies had become bane for crores of people in the State. The party youth wing activists staged a novel protest by wearing masks of YSR Congress president Jaganmohan Reddy.
Addressing a media conference, he said that only YSR Congress was sincerely trying to keep the State united.
Mr. Kirankumar took exception to the remarks of AICC in charge of party affairs in the State Digvijay Singh who reportedly said that there was no second thoughts on the bifurcation decision. Agitations continued all over the district including Srikakulam. Panchayat Raj employees tonsured their heads as part of the agitation. Junior Chamber International representatives presented a petition to Lord Krishna seeking his blessings to stop the division of the State.
PCC Legal Cell vice-chairman and senior advocate Mamidi Venkata Rao asked the government not to go against the will of thousands of people in the State.
He and other leaders participated in an agitation at the court complex in Sompeta. Srikakulam DCC president Narthu Narendra Yadav extended his support to the movement.
