Magunta too jumps on to TDP bandwagon

April 15, 2014 06:32 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 09:04 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Migrations from the Congress to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) are continuing. Senior Congress leader and Ongole MP Magunta Srinivas Reddy is the latest to jump the ship to the TDP.

Mr. Srinivas Reddy formally joined the TDP in the presence of party president N. Chandrababu Naidu at the latter’s residence here on Tuesday. Mr. Reddy had been keeping away from the Congress activities since the passage of the Telangana Bill and finally made up his mind to switch over to the TDP after meeting his supporters a couple of days ago who endorsed his joining.

Mr. Srinivas Reddy said he was disappointed at the way the Congress went ahead with the bifurcation without announcing any packages or concrete assurances to Seemandhra. Mr. Reddy said he was of the firm belief that Mr. Naidu alone had the capability to effectively reconstruct the Seemandhra region and ensure its accelerated development.
