Sitting Ongole MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, who has quit the Congress soon after the Bill to split the State was passed by the Lok Sabha, has made up his mind to join the opposition Telugu Desam Party.

“I will join the TDP in the presence of its president N.Chandrababu Naidu in Hyderabad on Tuesday,” the MP said while talking to The Hindu .

“The successor State very much needs the administrative acumen of Mr Naidu to build a new capital and ensure all-round development,” added the three-time MP who is planning to contest the Ongole Lok Sabha seat now on the TDP ticket aiming at a quadruple of poll wins.

Replying to a question, he said he had not put any conditions on the selection of candidates for the seven Assembly segments within the Ongole Lok Sabha constituency.

It was the TDP supremo to decide the number of Assembly seats to be offered to the BJP in Prakasam district, he added.

The TDP has offered the S.N.Padu (SC reserved) Assembly seat to the BJP and following vehement protests from the party cadre, the TDP is considering giving the Kondepi(SC reserved) seat instead to the BJP, TDP sources said.
