LSP creates a buzz

The Lok Satta Party’s election campaign has been unique in every aspect right from spending funds to voters’ outreach.

Ms. Tara of Lok Satta Party’s team in charge of campaigning said their campaign began much before the Election Commission issued notification for Assembly and Lok Sabha polls to select right candidates by involving public.

The party went ahead and declared their candidates in January itself based on the work done by them in those constituencies and from the suggestions of people in that constituency. It called for volunteers to work for the party and people who subscribed to the party’s ideology registered as volunteers and no one was paid.

The basic mode of campaigning in the last six weeks has been going door-to-door, candidates giving talks, speaking about the manifesto addressing aspirations of every vulnerable section, and Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan, party national president and Lok Sabha candidate for Malkajgiri constituency, explaining his vision for the constituency and actively reaching out to voters through road shows, meeting first time voters in colleges, organising walk in interview of Lok Satta candidates by public. Dr.JP conducted about 75 road shows. Lok Satta Party also mounted a huge campaign in the social media and through its website win.loksatta.org and created a missed call set up where party supporters, volunteers received tens of thousands of calls and explained the party’s agenda.
