Farmers of Borupalem village in Thullur mandal protested in front of the CRDA office alleging that the wet lands they gave away in the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS), were now categorised under dry lands.

As many as 15 farmers owning 14 acres, said that the CRDA officials had promised that they would give fair compensation after considering their lands as wet lands.

“All our lands are wet lands and fulfill all the conditions to be classified as wet lands. But after two years, the CRDA has gone back on its words,” alleged Ravindra Babu.

The CRDA officials however said that their lands had been classified as dry lands as water levels were quite low in the lands.

Deputy collector Seshi Reddy said the lands were classified as dry lands only after teams of revenue, survey inspected them.
