‘Lord Krishna’ in well of House irks Deputy Speaker

August 12, 2013 11:47 pm | Updated 11:47 pm IST - NEW DELHI:

Deputy Speaker of the Lok Sabha Karia Munda on Monday strongly disapproved of the conduct of a Telugu Desam Party (TDP) member of trying to “play Lord Krishna” in the well and some other members for showing placards.

“The conduct of several members of the House today in showing banners and placards in the well, shouting slogans and one member dressed up dramatically and attempting to play the flute in the well was highly derogatory to the dignity of the House,” he said when the House re-assembled after lunch break. Denouncing the conduct of members, he hoped that there would “not be recourse to such behaviour in future.”

In the morning, the TDP members protesting the decision on Telangana, stormed the well. One of them, Naramalli Sivaprasad, was dressed like Krishna, donning a crown and a garland and holding a flute and ‘Sudarshan Chakra.’ He represents the Chittoor (SC) Lok Sabha constituency, which falls in the Rayalaseema region of Seemandhra.
