Lord Govindaraja rode the ‘Kalpa Vriksha Vahanam’ on the fourth day of the annual Brahmotsavams here on Thursday.

According to mythology, Kalpa Vriksha is a celestial tree that fulfils the wishes of devotees. The deity of Lord Govindaraja, along with His two consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi, were placed under the tree and carried in a colourful procession on the streets encircling the temple. The event was marked by dance and bhajans by cultural troupes that added to the spiritual fervour.

The team of Sri Vaishnavite scholars reciting ‘Nalayira Divya Prabandham’ was led by Temple pontiffs Sri Pedda Jeeyar and Chinna Jeeyar.

In the evening, the deity was taken atop ‘Sarva Bhoopala Vahanam’.
