It is not only the Chief Ministers of AP and Telangana who are going to foreign countries to woo investors. Their sons too are following the suit—Nara Lokesh, TDP Workers Welfare Fund Coordinator and son of N. Chandrababu Naidu and K.T. Rama Rao, Telangana IT Minister and son of K. Chandrasekhar Rao, are now both in the USA to attract NRI entrepreneurs.
Mr. Lokesh was accorded a warm welcome by Bay area by NRI TDP members at San Francisco on Sunday. He addressed a ‘Meet & Greet’’ programme in Los Angeles in which over 600 NRIs participated. As many as 126 individuals signed for adoption of smart village/ smart ward programme after Mr. Lokesh made a power-point presentation .
Before his return to Hyderabad on May 13, Mr. Lokesh would address NRI meetings at San Jose , New Jersey and Dallas . Mr. Rama Rao, who left for the US on Tuesday on a 15-day visit, will showcase the State and seek NRI investments in IT and related sectors, besides in the government’s flagship schemes of Water Grid and Mission Kakatiya. He is planning to meet the chief executives of software majors such as Microsoft, Google, Cisco and several others. He would also address meetings in several universities.
According to the Minister’s office, he would have luncheon meeting with Indian diplomats in Washington DC , meet with investors in New York and NRIs in New Jersey , meet with faculty and chief executive of Mellon University at Pittsburgh , meet with NRIs at Dallas , visit San Francisco and meet with executive of Google and participate in Make-in-India programme at Palo Alto .
