Lok Satta Party and Aam Admi Party, which share similar agenda of bringing in political transformation in the country, have agreed in principle to explore the possibilities of working together.
To meet againLok Satta Party National president Jayaprakash Narayan and his team from Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi held discussions with AAP President Arvind Kejriwal and other leaders Prashant Bhushan, Manish Sisodiya at Delhi on Saturday. They decided to meet again on January 16.
Speaking to The Hindu from Delhi, Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan said that the Lok Satta believes that politics of change should not be fragmented and it should pave way for political evolution. “We are exploring the possibilities of working with AAP. In principle they agreed but the modalities have to be worked out,” he said.
National importanceDr.Narayan said that the Lok Satta Party extended its hand of friendship and cooperation for the movement of political change which serves national importance.
It was important to build coalitions to bring a change but finding electoral traction was another thing. Lok Satta as an organisation during the last 18 years worked successfully for three Constitutional amendments and several key legislations like RTI.
Earlier, speaking to mediapersons, Dr. Narayan said that Lok Satta respected the aspirations of Telangana people and supported formation of Telangana State.
However the State could not be divided forcibly without taking people of coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema on board.
Replying to a question, he said Lok Satta Party had worked out a solution that would be acceptable to all regions and he would disclose it in the Assembly.
