More voices are emanating against the allegations made by TTD former chief priest A.V. Ramana Dikshitulu during his series of press conferences.

Speaking to the media here on Thursday, TUDA former Chairman N.V. Prasad and Centre for Rayalaseema Studies Chairman Bhuman rubbished the allegations on the existence of ‘Nelamaliga’ (underground treasure house) in Srivari potu (temple kitchen) at Tirumala. “If it is true, it would have found a mention anywhere in the scores of inscriptions or palm leaf manuscripts available since centuries,” they said. The duo spoke to the media as common devotees and residents of Tirupati and not in any official/party position. They expressed worry that such ‘baseless allegations’ would only damage the world famous temple’s reputation and cause confusion among the devotees.

Mr. Prasad wondered how a treasure hunt could be taken up in a public place frequented by thousands of devotees everyday and urged the former chief priest to exercise restraint. Mr. Bhuman indicated that they were ready to talk to him on the allegations if he ever visited Tirumala, instead of airing his comments from Chennai or Hyderabad.
