The YSR Congress has accused Telugu Desam Party of fudging figures pertaining to loan waiver and said the false promises made by the TDP were responsible for the continuing suicides of farmers in the State.

YSRC MLC Ummareddy Venkateswarlu said two farmers in Parchur and Uravakonda committed suicide recently after being ‘deceived by the false promises’ of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu that the TDP would waive all agricultural loans once it came back to power. With the TDP government not keeping its promise, 94 per cent of farmers who depend on bank loans were being drive to take to extreme step due to indebtedness.
