January 11, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:08 am IST - CHITTOOR:

District Collector Siddarth Jain on Saturday inspected the process of depositing money in the individual accounts of farmers in connection with crop loan waiver at Sapthagiri Grameena Bank at Damalacheruvu village of Pakala mandal in the district. He also directed officials to meet the specified target in a week’s time.

Mr. Jain said inspections at banks across the district would be intensified, and any delay in depositing money in farmers’ accounts would be taken seriously. Of the Rs. 350 crore released to various banks in the district, only Rs. 125 crore has been deposited in farmers’ accounts so far.
