Second Additional Judicial Magistrate of Parvathipuram Ch. Chandrasekhar on Thursday sentenced Mandangi Arjuna, Mandangi Chinna Rao, Mandangi Kommanna and Mandangi Valapa Rao of Mula Pilledi village in G. L. Puram mandal to life imprisonment and fined Rs. 1,500 each for killing and cremating body of Mandangi Timmanna of the same village accusing him of practising witchcraft on October 25, 2012.

According to Public Prosecutor Y. Parsuram, the four accused and a few others stoned Timmanna to death in an open place alleging that he was responsible for the sufferings of Mandangi Pentayya of the same village. In fact, Pentayya was down with fever for some time. After threatening his wife Kantamma of similar fate, if she complained to the police, they carried the body of Timmanna and burnt it atop a hill on that day.
