Labour Dept. announces aid

: The Labour Department has announced that it would give away a cheque for Rs.5.20 lakh to the next of kin of Devendra.

Assistant Labour Commissioner Chava Asha Rani said Devendra has been registered as a construction worker under the AP Building and Construction Workers Act by paying Rs.110.

The commissioner appealed to construction workers to get themselves registered by paying just Rs.110.

Workers who register themselves under the scheme would be paid Rs. 60,000 in case of natural death and Rs. 10,000 for funeral expenses.
