Expressing concern that Kurnool district lagged behind in implementation of welfare and development programmes through almost all the departments, Collector S. Satyanarayana exhorted officials on Friday to rectify lapses and strive in a planned manner to achieve the set targets.

The two-day Collectors’ conference noted that the district stood last except in a couple of areas, the Collector said in a review meeting with district officials in his camp office here.

CM to monitor

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu would henceforth conduct fortnightly reviews, Mr. Satyanarayana said and told the officials to submit a comprehensive action plan on implementation of welfare and development programmes. Stating that complacency and excuses would not be tolerated, he warned of action against lax officials.

Kurnool district was penultimate in implementation of e-office, fifth in agriculture, seventh in sanction of loans through various corporations and last in other departments, the Collector said.
