Kuppam town bags A-Grade under Smart Villages concept

February 08, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - CHITTOOR:

In keeping with the ‘Smart Villages’ concept, the State government has accorded A-Grade to Kuppam town for registering development in all parameters.

This will enable the fast-growing town to receive Central grants under the Syam Prasad Mukherjee Rurban Mission.

Accordingly, Panchayat Raj officials will now be sending proposals for the integrated development of Kuppam. Kuppam Area Development Authority (KADA) Special Officer Mr. Syam Prasad said it was a welcome development that Kuppam had received A-Grade under the Smart Villages concept.

He added that steps would be initiated to overcome the prevailing gaps, besides giving top priority to rural development and women and children.
