Minister for Information Technology K. T. Rama Rao on Thursday said the AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu could extend financial assistance to students of that State like TRS Government was clear about paying 100 per cent fee under the Financial Assistance to Students of Telangana (FAST).

Reacting to Mr. Naidu’s proposal that AP Government was willing to share the financial burden in the 58:42 ratio for professional college students, Mr. Rama Rao said: “Why should he interfere in our affairs. Why only 58 per cent fee for his students, let him pay 100 per cent,” he told The Hindu . The IT Minister sought to know why Mr. Naidu was complicating the issue. “Government of Telangana wants to give 100 per cent financial assistance to students of the new State. Let Mr. Naidu have his own approach to extend similar assistance,” he said.

Mr. Rama Rao pointed out that the State Cabinet has approved the FAST scheme and guidelines had been issued.
