The TDP would construct a better capital city than Hyderabad for the residuary Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Naidu said and urged the Election Commission to announce results of local bodies’ polls ahead of general elections so that people could know the strength and weaknesses of all parties.
Later in the day, president of AP Backward Classes’ Welfare Association R. Krishnaiah joined TDP along with his supporters. Mr. Krishnaiah said they would strive for 50 per cent quota to BCs in the law-making bodies if TDP was voted to power.
