Union Minister of State for Railways Kotla Jaya Suryaprakasa Reddy has denied the remarks attributed to him on Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s bail issue.
Irked by the reports of probability of CBI summons to him, Mr. Suryaprakasa Reddy told reporters at district Congress office here on Tuesday that he had never held any scheduled press conference at Kodumur on Saturday but had stopped only for a while on his way back from Karnataka.
Remarks distored, false
Mr. Reddy, who saw a conspiracy behind the controversy in the wake of the Jagan’s bail petition being moved before the Supreme Court, said his remarks were distorted and falsified.
Mr. Reddy said he would stick to his utterance of “law would take its own course” which was in the video footage. He stated that major English newspapers, with none of them having a permanent staffer at Kodumur, were misled to “blow up” the matter. Mr. Reddy threatened to sue the newspapers if not satisfied with the rejoinders.
Meanwhile, the district Congress office was abuzz with activity with Mr. Suryaprakasa Reddy landing in a controversy.
MLC Sudhakar Babu and District Congress president B.Y. Ramaiah, staunch supporters of the Union Minister, launched a scathing attack on Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and his media house saying his return to the Congress party was out of question.
Unethical means
Mr. Sudhakar Babu said Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy and his party supporters were indulging in unethical and extra-legal means to secure his freedom. Instead of pleading innocence and sincerity before the court, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy was throwing tantrums to tarnish the image of the CBI and Congress Ministers.
Mr. Sudhakar Babu said Jagan Mohan Reddy’s managers had no inkling that desperate attempts would only be counter-productive and complicate the issue.
The courts in their wisdom would see through the machinations of the petitioners, he said.
