State BJP president G. Kishan Reddy on Friday denied that senior party leader M. Venkaiah Naidu was criticised during a recent meeting Telangana BJP leaders had with central leaders on the bifurcation issue.
At a press conference here, he said that Mr. Naidu had always been quite clear on Telangana issue and there was no truth in the media reports.
He said the BJP was in favour of solving all the problems faced by Seemandhra people during the process of bifurcation and faulted the Congress leaders for failing to create confidence among them. He said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should tour Seemandhra region to instil confidence among the people.
Accusing Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy of not paying attention to several issues facing the State, he said Mr. Reddy should quit if he felt that the agitation for united State was more important.
He also hit out at Telangana Congress leaders for conducting a ‘Jaitra Yatra’ and wondered about the reason for holding such a meeting. They were celebrating when the Chief Minister was obstructing creation of Telangana State, he remarked.
