Kiran supporters ignore Peddireddi in Piler

With the Jai Samaikhyandra Party president and former chief minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy set to file his nomination from Piler Assembly constituency on April 16, his arch rival and former minister Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy is leaving no stone unturned to create trouble for the former.

The former minister and his son Mithun Reddy, who is to contest the Rajampeta Lok Sabha constituency as the LS candidate, have made whirlwind tour of Piler constituency, luring Kiran's supporters and the Congress workers to join the YSR Congress. The father-son duo has been repeatedly throwing challenges to Kiran to win a single seat in the district. They maintain that Mr Kiran Reddy who has no strength to announce the candidates for the JSP in the district is daydreaming to win in Piler.

Speaking to The Hindu, Mr Mithun Reddy said that except for Kalikiri, Mr Kiran is going to find the going tough. He said that the YSRC cadres are strong in all other mandals of Piler, KV Palle, Gurramkonda, Valmikipuram and capture Piler again.

Supporters of Kiran maintain that though the Peddireddi duo has put maximum concentration on Piler constituency, it would be impossible to defeat their leader. During the three-year stint as the Chief minister, Mr Kiran had launched developmental works worth over Rs 1500 crores in Piler constituency, apart from laying the stone for Rs 7000 crore worth water project. The JSP functionaries, said that the people of the constituency consider Kiran not as the JSP president, but as one who had brought unprecedented development to their region. "The personal vengeance of Peddireddi family against Kiran will not work out in Piler," staunch followers of Kiran Reddy maintain.

Meanwhile, there is another version that YSRC could not even set its foot in Piler till Kiran was the Chief minister. With the TDP cadres enjoying considerable strength all over Piler, the party cadres say that the main fight in Piler would between Kiran and TDP.
