Kiran Reddy slams TDP, YSRC for bifurcation

March 18, 2014 01:50 am | Updated May 19, 2016 09:30 am IST - SRIKAKULAM:

Jai Samaikyandhra Party president N. Kiran Kumar Reddy on Monday alleged that Telugu Desam Party and YSR Congress were equally responsible for the division of the State though Congress and BJP played a major role in the bifurcation of the State. He said that only his party could protect the interests of Seemandhra region and strive hard for reunion of both regions.

He kicked off a road show in Palasa, 80 km away from the district head quarter. Former MPs Kaniti Viswanatham, Hanumanthu Appayyadora and others made arrangements at the Old Bus Stand for the election campaign.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy alleged that TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu never made any effort to keep the State united. Even YSR Congress had no moral right to talk about Samaikyandhra as it failed to oppose the division move when an all party meeting was convened by the Union Government.

“I resigned from the Chief Minister’s post and also from the Congress Party only to protect the interests of Seemandhra region. I knew very well that it would be a Herculean task to strengthen the new party within two months. That is the reason why we are not concentrating on local body elections. We hope to win more seats during general elections,” he added.

Mr.Kiran Kumar Reddy will conduct road shows in Tekkali and Srikakulam.
