Amid concerns in the ruling party of widening of the gap with his Cabinet colleagues, Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy is likely to visit Delhi on May 6 to meet the party’s central leaders.

An indication of his visit to Delhi came after he cancelled his scheduled three-day tour of Anantapur district from May 6 to participate in ‘Indiramma Baata’. He reportedly told Ministers N. Raghuveera Reddy and S.Sailajanath that he was cancelling his visit and hinted that he may go to Delhi.

Sources in the Chief Minister’s office, however, denied reports of his plans to visit Delhi on May 6 and blamed a section of the media for encouraging the talk of dissidence activity. Moreover, the Central leaders would be busy with the results of the Karnataka Assembly elections and Parliament which would be in session till May 10.

Interestingly, the Chief Minister could pre-empt the visit of Deputy Chief Minister C. Damodar Raj Narasimha to Delhi on May 8. Sources said Mr. Narasimha was determined to bring to the central leaders’ notice the manner in which he had been completely sidelined during the on going ‘Indiramma Kalalu’ campaign to highlight the SC and ST Sub Plan legislation.
