Kiran hails Railway Budget

Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has hailed Railway Budget-2011 as “common man's welfare budget”.

Expressing gratitude to UPA Chairperson, Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Minister for Railways Mamata Banerjee, he expressed the hope that many more projects will be allotted to Andhra Pradesh in the near future.

He thanked MPs from the State for their efforts in getting new sanctions and projects.

He also appreciated the concessions announced for physically-challenged people, proposed Pradana Mantri Rail Vikas Yojana for 114 socially desirable projects and for creating a separate sports cadre in the Railways and facilitating press correspondents to avail 50 per cent concession.
