Accusing the BJP of betraying the State and extending support to Opposition parties, Deputy Chief Minister K.E. Krishnamurthy on Tuesday charged the party with plotting to vitiate the atmosphere and destabilise the State government.

Asserting at a media conference in Kurnool that the BJP leaders were warning that Alipiri incident might repeat, he asked if a conspiracy was hatched to eliminate the leaders who question the Centre. Continuation of such a government would endanger democracy, he alleged. While Congress plundered the exchequer, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision on demonetisation affected the lives of people, he alleged.

Alleging that ATMs have gone cashless owing to the Karnataka elections, Mr. Krishnamurthy said a similar situation was experienced during elections in Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat in the past. New parties, media and filmi controversies would not pollute the political atmosphere and social conditions in Andhra Pradesh, he asserted.

The sole agenda of YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was to obstruct development and criticise Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the Deputy Chief Minister alleged.
