The replies given by the Ministers again generated heat in the Assembly on Monday.

The legislators of the TDP and the BJP expressed serious dissatisfaction over the Ministers’ replies.

TDP MLA Kuna Ravi Kumar alleged that the records pertaining to assigned lands in Srikakulam district had been tampered.

He wanted the government to appoint an officer to look into the government lands issue and conduct a comprehensive survey.

Pointing out that meetings of the assignment committees were not taking place, the MLAs sought an explanation from the government.

At one point of time, Deputy Chief Minister K. E. Krishnamurthy, who is also the Revenue Minister, lost his cool during question hour when the MLAs grilled him over the assignment committees.

TDP MLA Dhulipala Narendra expressed the view that the government’s stand on e-POS was far from reality.

Civil Supplies Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao’s reply on implementation of the e-POS was not correct.

The aged and the leprosy patients were suffering as their fingerprints were not being captured in the e-POS system, he said.

Speaker’s advice

BJP Floor leader Vishnu Kumar Raju’s comment that the Ministers were not giving comprehensive replies was objected by Finance and Legislative Affairs Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu.

Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad Rao said it was not proper to generalise and say all the Ministers were not giving comprehensive replies.

He suggested the BJP MLA to withdraw his remarks.

Dr. Rao also did not mince words in expressing displeasure over the absence of the MLAs who raised short duration questions.
