TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday reiterated that the people of Telangana would not tolerate any restrictions on the capital of Hyderabad and warned of another war if the Centre does so.

Why were restrictions were sought to be imposed in Telangana and not in any of the 28 other States, he wondered. “We will not allow the Centre to maintain law and order in Hyderabad. We know how to handle it,” he asserted.

“The people of Telangana are maintaining silence as the Centre has initiated the process of carving out a separate State. If anyone wants to stop Telangana formation, the people of the region will pounce back like tigers, he said. Mr. Rao alleged that Samaikyandhra movement was aimed only to taking away jobs and resources of the Telangana region.

Launching a scathing attack against Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy for opposing the Congress Working Committee’s decision on Telangana, he said that Mr. Reddy should act like a statesman. Otherwise, he should resign and express support for integration.

Faulting the CM for triggering apprehensions about river water sharing, he said the Telugu Ganga project was allocated only 19 tmcft of water. But in reality, 135 tmcft was being diverted to the non-basin area, he said. He alleged that the objective of the integrationists Pradesh was only to siphon off water from Telangana.

Alleging that the Seemandhra leaders had purposefully shifted the Manuguru thermal power station to Vijayawada, he said the thermal power stations should be installed at the pithead of a coal mine to reduce production cost.
