Doctors attending on the fasting Telangana Rashtra Samithi president, K. Chandrasekhara Rao early on Wednesday morning expressed concern over his health as he was once again refusing to cooperate with them. If this continued, his health condition would deteriorate very fast, they said.

At a briefing here on Wednesday, Director of Medical Education T. Ravi Raju said Mr. Rao was refusing antibiotics, saline, glucose and other supportive therapy and was weak and ill, though conscious. “He is not cooperating for treatment and blood tests. He should resume oral feeds immediately as his general condition is deteriorating,” an official bulletin said.

The TRS leader had been cooperating with doctors and had accepted intravenous fluids since Tuesday afternoon following which there was a slight improvement in his condition. But, he did a volte face late on Tuesday night for which the reasons are not known. The first indication of his non-cooperation came at about 7 a.m. on Wednesday when he refused to have his blood taken by the doctors for tests.

Worried members of KCR's family said the leader had decided not to cooperate as there was a lack of commitment on the part of the government to the issue apart from an unwillingness to introduce a resolution in the Assembly for the creation of a separate Telangana State.
