TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao has incurred the wrath of Samaikyandhra activists in Tirupati on Monday for the statements he made at the ‘Sakala Jana Bheri’ meeting in Hyderabad on Sunday.
Government employees, who have been on a relay fast under the banner of the ‘Udyoga Joint Action Committee’ at the APSRTC junction here, took serious exception to the ‘unsavoury’ comments made by the TRS chief.
Condemning KCR for quoting the proverb of beating a haunted person with footwear as a measure of exorcising, the fasting employees beat his effigy with sandals.
‘Do not test our patience’
“While many people in Telangana region want to remain in a unified State, it is the TRS who is enacting a political drama. Though we are holding our demonstrations peacefully, KCR has been testing our patience with his bitter remarks,” said JAC Chairman Y. Ramachandra Reddy, who is also the Revenue Divisional Officer, Tirupati.
The beating of his effigy with footwear was not aimed at him, but the ‘separatist ghost’ in him that makes him utter ‘mindless words’ against the fellow Telugu people, he added.
Similarly, Congress leaders and the employees of the Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) doused the flexi banners portraying KCR and TJAC Chairman Prof. Kodandaram with cleaning liquid and cleaned them with broom sticks, alleging that both the leaders were belittling the Samaikyandhra movement.
‘KCR must act in dignified manner’
Dubbing the duo as ‘foul-mouthed’, PCC Joint Secretary P. Naveen Kumar Reddy said that the leaders deserved such kind of treatment .
“An activist fighting for a cause should not talk ill of a fellow activist, though the latter is fighting for another cause. The TRS president should behave in a more dignified manner,” Mr. Reddy said.
