Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju has said that the Centre takes a holistic view and keeps national interest in mind when dealing with the Kashmir issue. Interacting with the media after reviewing a passing-out parade at the National Industrial Security Academy of the Central Industrial Security Force here on Sunday, he said the issue was indeed a sensitive matter and required cautious handling. Asked to explain in detail, he said, “It is not wise enough on my part to spell out the steps we plan to take because it is a sensitive matter and we are dealing it with care.”

On the separatists’ call against Kashmiri Pandits’ pilgrimage to Kousar Nag, he said the Ministry was examining it. “Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has expressed his views and we will take into account all aspects in national interest. We are not bound by the opinions of one party or organisation,” Mr. Rijiju added.
