In order to ensure the surrender of Maoists naxalites, the Karimnagar district police have conducted a counselling programme with the parents of underground cadre naxalites in Peddapalli on Friday.

The Karimnagar district was having around 32 underground naxalites of various cadres’ right from the Maoists supremo Muppala Laxman Rao alias Ganapathi to the ordinary dalam member working in various parts of the country.

During the counselling programme, the parents and relatives of Maoists central committee members Mallojula Koteshwara Rao of Peddapalli, Polluri Prasad Rao of Vadkapur village in Julapalli mandal, North Telangana Special zone committee member Kankanala Raji Reddy of Kalwa Srirampur, Maoists provincial committee member Thipparthi Tirupathi of Korutla and others have participated in the programme which was attended by Superintendent of Police V Ravinder.

The parents and relatives of the Maoists have poured out their woes before the police about their plight at the final stage of their life. The aged parents with tears in their eyes said that they have not seen their children since three decades and they never visited them even when they were suffering from an ailment.

Speaking on the occasion, SP Ravinder called upon the UG cadre naxalites to join the mainstream of the society and take care of their aged parents and family members.

Assuring them of suitable rehabilitation including the reward amount, he said that the government would provide land to the surrendered naxalites and self-employment schemes would be also grounded.

He said that there would not be any kind of harassment of surrendered naxalites and appealed to the Maoists to join without any fear before any police official.

OSD Subbarayudu, Godavarikhani DSP Uday Kumar Reddy, Peddapalli CI T Srinivas Rao and others were also present.
