Kamalnathan panel for options to all State level employees

June 30, 2014 10:48 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 06:54 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

The Kamalnathan Committee for distribution of State level employees between the two successor States broadly reached a consensus on the draft guidelines in its meeting here on Monday.

The meeting attended by the Chief Secretaries of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, other State officials, and Union Government representative agreed on giving options to all the employees. The State Reorganisation Act, 2014 has made it mandatory to give options to the State level employees.

“The committee members broadly reached an agreement on guidelines for distribution of state cadre posts and allocation of employees. The meeting discussed all the issues threadbare and most of them were thrashed out. However these will be firmed up in a couple of days,” sources said.

Once the minutes of the meeting and draft guidelines are approved, both the State Governments will upload the committee’s report on draft guidelines in their websites. About 10 to 15 days time will be given to enable the employees and employees associations to give their remarks and suggestions. Meanwhile the State Governments may also give their views on the draft guidelines, sources said.

The committee will meet again to analyse the suggestions and remarks and finalise the guidelines and submit them to the Union Government and then to the Prime Minister for his approval.
