The newly-appointed Kadapa city Congress president Nazeer Ahmed and other office-bearers assumed charge in the District Congress Committee office here on Wednesday.

Mr. Nazeer Ahmed was appointed as city Congress president in place of S. Mohiuddin Saheb, who has been appointed as PCC secretary. Chennamsetty Muralikrishna took charge as DCC official spokesman, Rajesh as district vice-president and Thota Balasubrahmanyam as district Congress vice-president. They were handed over the appointment orders by Minister for Endowments C. Ramachandraiah and Minister for Minority Welfare Mohd. Ahmedullah. Incidentally, those appointed in the DCC body and the city Congress president were Mr. Ramachandraiah’s followers. Kadapa District Congress Committee president M. Ashok Kumar presided.

The Ministers exhorted the party cadre to strive to strengthen the party to ensure that it bags a hat-trick win in the next general elections. Every partyman should strive to make the AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister, they said. Congress leaders P.V.S. Murthy, B. Hariprasad, N. Srinivasa Rao, Mohd. Ashrafullah, Ghouse Peer, Mohd. Fayaz and others participated.
