The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur (JNTUA) today entered into an MoU with Mobile Tutor Pvt ltd (mtutor), a company which develops coaching material and delivers them to mobile devices, to provide free courseware to students of JNTUA.

Speaking to The Hindu , Vice-Chancellor K. Lal Kishore said that the first year engineering students would be able to access courseware in both English and Telugu language. Students can download the application from university’s web portal onto their mobiles and tablets, he said. This facility, which would be made available from the academic year 2015-16, would also allow the university to measure the performance of the students who have used the courseware and thereby decide on future course of action.

“The company shall provide the free courseware in English and Telugu for first year and also extend it for the remaining three years of the undergraduate programme,” said Mr. Lal Kishore.

Head of alliances of mtutor S. Bharat said that such e-learning tools were being developed for pharmacy students. The MoU was signed by JNTUA Registrar S. Krishniah and S. Bharat, head of alliances at mtutor, in the presence of V-C K Lal Kishore, and directors of JNTUA B. Uma Maheshwara Goud, B. Subba Rao, M. Vijaya Kumar, K Rama Naidu and K.B. Chandrasekhar.
