Jilted lover throws acid on man in Guntur

The victim, who got married just two days back, succumbed to injuries

A newly married man died after his jilted girlfriend allegedly threw acid on him at the Venigandla village in Pedakakani mandal. The man got married only two days ago.

The deceased was identified as Ilyas, a native of Pamulapadu village in Tadikonda mandal. He was working as a TV mechanic in a private company.

The police identified the attacker as Hima Bindu. A native of Pamulapadu village in Tadikonda mandal, she had been working at a pharmacy for a year.

While was staying at a working women’s hostel in Guntur, she allegedly developed a relationship with Ilyas, which continued for four years. On Tuesday, the woman called a friend of Ilyas and reportedly said she wanted to take back her photographs from him. Ilyas agreed to meet her at Venigandla village. During a heated conversation, the woman allegedly took out a bottle and splashed acid across his face.

Neighbours rushed him to the Government General Hospital, but he died on the way. DSP of Mangalagiri G. Ramanjaneyulu said that a case had been booked and they were looking for the woman.
