Jayalalithaa, Rosaiah greet Naidu

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has congratulated the new Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who assumed office on Sunday.

Stating that she would have liked to personally attend swearing-in ceremony, Ms. Jayalalithaa in a message to Mr. Naidu said she was not able to do so “owing to pressing circumstances.” She conveyed her best wishes to Mr. Naidu for a successful tenure as Chief Minister.

Ms. Jayalalithaa also expressed the hope that under Mr. Naidu’s stewardship, the new residual State of Andhra Pradesh would reach greater heights of prosperity and development. She deputed Housing Minister R. Vaithilingam and Transport Minister V. Senthil Balaji to represent her in the swearing-in ceremony.

In his congratulatory message to Mr. Naidu, Tamil Nadu Governor K. Rosaiah said that Mr. Naidu’s able administration, and pragmatic approach coupled with dynamism would lead Andhra Pradesh to prosperity and progress.
