Panchayat Raj Minister K. Jana Reddy said that despite facing financial crunch, the government has been implementing several welfare schemes for the benefit of the poor.

Mr. Jana Reddy, while taking part in several official programmes in Nizamabad, Armoor and Balkonda Assembly constituencies on Friday, said that the government was striving to ensure people’s well being by implementing schemes like ‘Amma Hastam’, Bangaru Talli’, ‘Indiramma Kalalu’ etc.

Meanwhile, a high drama prevailed for a few minutes at Dhoosgam village in Dichpally mandal when the TDP leaders objected to converting an official programme into a public meeting. TDP MLA Venkateswar Rao and MLCs V.G. Goud and Narsa Reddy picked up an argument with the Ministers and the Congress leaders questioning the morality of conducting party meeting in the presence of the officials.

At one stage, the situation seemed to be going out of control with the Congress and TDP cadres coming close to exchanging blows. But, the activists of both the parties were pacified with the intervention of the leaders.

Earlier, Mr. Jana Reddy inaugurated the CC roads laid at the cost of Rs. 5.50 crore at this mandal headquarters. He also laid foundation to new road constructions in Nizamabad rural constituency.

Minister for Major Irrigation P. Sudarshan Reddy, Government Whip E. Anil, MLCs D. Srinivas, Arkala Narsa Reddy and V.G. Goud and MLA Mandava Venkateswar Rao, former ZP chairman Taher Bin Hamdan, DCC president Gadugu Gangadhar, PCC secretaries D. Surendar and N. Ratnakar and former MLA Akula Lalitha were present.
