YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is making controversial remarks against the Chief Minister as he has sensed defeat in the Nandyal byelection, according to Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana.

Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy failed to deliver both within the State Assembly and outside of it, Mr. Narayana said while addressing the media here on Friday.

“Impatient as he is, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy is not fit for politics,” the Minister said, adding that people were disgusted with his remarks such as “gun down the Chief Minister” and “hang the Chief Minister.”

The violent streak was perhaps inherited by him from his family, he said, adding this type of outbursts would not work in politics.

“It will not be possible for Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy to become the Chief Minister with such a violent temperament,” he felt.

Kapu agitation

Alleging the YSRCP president was behind the “politically-motivated” agitation by Mudragada Padmanabham, he said the government fulfilled the poll promises made to the community such as setting up of a corporation to improve the self-employment opportunities of Kapu youth and providing funds for their overseas studies.

“The Justice Manjunatha Commission’s report is expected in two or three months,” he said, adding that members of the community, who waited for decades for reservation, should wait for a few more months. He said no pressure could be mounted on the commission to submit its report at the earliest. The Chief Minister was proceeding cautiously to ensure the reservation for Kapus would stand legal scrutiny.
