YSR Congress president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy on Monday used his Samaikyandhra yatra as a platform to lash out at Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, alleging that the latter had authored a regime of corruption in the State, besides colluding with the Congress party to save himself from the CBI probe.
Addressing a public meeting at Punganur town, Mr. Jagan accused Mr. Naidu of amassing wealth by resorting to corruption. He not only expanded his business in A.P., but all over the country. He was responsible for Emaar, IMG and several other land scams, but the CBI conveniently overlooked all these without launching any inquiry, he alleged. “To save himself from the charges, he colluded with Sonia Gandhi and the Congress party,” YSRC leader said. To substantiate his allegation, Mr. Jagan said that the TDP had saved the Kiran government from the no-trust move. Had Mr. Naidu voted in favour of the motion, the Congress government would have fallen and the issue of bifurcation would not have come up.
Terming the TDP leader as a ‘hardcore liar’, Mr. Jagan pointed out that it was Mr. Naidu who ditched his uncle N.T. Rama Rao and watered down the subsidy rice scheme and liquor prohibition promises of NTR, besides unleashing belt shops. “Chittoor is a witness to his recent collusion with the Congress in local body elections,” he added.
“Mr. Naidu joined hands with the Congress and had put me behind bars for 16 months, though no charge was proved against me,” he said.
Referring to TDP leader’s Praja Garjana in Tirupati, he said: “I was disappointed with his long-winding speech in which he did not mention a word favouring Samaikyandhra. Three fourth of his speech was devoted to criticise me. Mr. Naidu will never change.” Earlier at Chowdepalle, YSRC leader said that if his party comes to power, he would enhance old age pension to Rs.500 and deposit Rs.500 in each student’s account who gets admitted to school.
