Minister for Agriculture Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy alleged on Saturday that YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was plotting to physically eliminate Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

The Election Commission should restrain Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy as he had no faith in democratic institutions and the Central government should keep him under surveillance considering his family’s history, the Minister told the media at Nandyal.

The police usually book a case under Section 307 of the IPC against persons threatening to kill someone, and Mr. Jagan should be no exception, Mr. Chandramohan Reddy said.

Mr. Naidu had the people’s support and god’s blessings, and hence survived an attempt on his life at Alipiri, the Minister said.

Dharmavaram MLA G. Suryanarayana, Irrigation Development Corporation chairman K.E. Prabhakar, MLC Akthar Chand Basha and TDP Kadapa district president R. Srinivasulu Reddy were present.

Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy was turning a blind eye to the ongoing developmental work worth ₹1,200 crore in Nandyal, Marketing Minister C. Adinarayana Reddy said in Nandyal.

Developmental work was in progress in the constituencies of 21 MLAs who had differed with Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy and defected to the TDP, he told the media.

‘Facts distorted’

Accusing the YSRCP president of distorting facts, he said Mr. Jagan and MLA R.K. Roja were obstructing development.

TDP candidate Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy would win even if all the family members of Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy canvassed in Nandyal, he added.
