Labour Minister K. Atchannaidu on Saturday accused YSR Congress president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy of misguiding youth. Parent should not allow their children to take part in the Opposition leader’s meetings such as ‘Yuva bheri’, the Minister said addressing the media here.
Stating that the Chief Minister had visited New Delhi umpteen times to convince the Central government to accord Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh. He accepted the special package offered as the Central government promised financial assistance that would be more than what would have been given under the SCS, he said.
Stating that Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy was showering promises as if he would become the Chief Minister, he questioned: “How can a leader, who is accused in 12 cases and attending court frequently, be eligible to become a CM?” The government was keen on completing irrigation projects in the Rayalaseema region, he said, and added that administrative sanction was accorded for the developmental works estimated at Rs. 850 crore in Alur, a backward constituency in Kurnool district. The government was examining the feasibility of the Vedavathi project, he added.
