YSR Congress president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy met BJP president Rajnath Singh, requesting the latter to oppose the manner in which Andhra Pradesh was being bifurcated, even as Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed his support to the YSR Congress leader in his fight.
‘Appropriate decision will be taken’
Talking to reporters later, Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy said the BJP president had promised him that an appropriate decision would be taken after consulting his party colleagues.
He hoped that wisdom would dawn upon the Opposition and they would come together to stand against this “injustice”. Later Mr. Nitish Kumar spoke to Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy on telephone and extended his support to the fight against the division of A.P.
Calls on Sushma Swaraj
Meanwhile, Sushma Swaraj, Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, assured she would support the Telangana Bill to a delegation of Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) led by its chairman, M. Kodandaram.
