Expressing concern over large-scale damage in recent floods, YSR Congress president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy assured the flood victims that their party would bring pressure on the government in all ways to extend maximum possible relief to the victims.

Mr. Jagan visited flood-hit areas in the south coastal and Rayalaseema districts of Kadapa, Chittoor and Nellore.

During his visit to the textile town of Venkatagiri, Mr. Jagan called on the victims who lost their handlooms, crops and houses in the recent sudden floods which took place on account of overflowing drains and tanks in the surrounding areas.

He said there was a need for extending relief to farmers as they lost heavily due to flooding of their fields.

Mr. Jagan assured the weavers that he would raise their issue for getting immediate financial assistance in the light of the fact that their looms were damaged and houses were also fully and partially damaged.

Stating that this kind of floods had not taken place in the recent times, Mr. Jagan asserted that the government should have to realise the severe hardships having been caused to all sections and extend assistance liberally. He visited the Poleramma temple and offered prayers there along with party workers.

During his interaction with farmers en route, Mr. Jagan said they need not be in despair as their party would take all steps for ensuring the reach of proper support to them in every way possible.

The YSRC presudebt visited the Kaivalya river which was in spate following recent heavy rains causing a lot of damage to property in villages in the past two weeks.

Mr. Jagan asked the families of the victims to bring to their party leaders’ notice if they did not get relief and rehabilitation packages from the government as it would help them take necessary steps to ensure timely support.
