Though divided on regional lines, the Ugadi celebrations brought the Congress leaders of the two regions together as the Panchangam shravanam was rendered by the same priests
Congress leaders from Telangana and Seemandhra may wrangle over various issues but came together for some time under strange circumstances on Monday during the Ugadi celebrations.
It was a strange spectacle at the Telangana and Seemandhra Congress party headquarters on the Gandhi Bhavan premises on the Ugadi (Telugu New year day) celebrations on Monday with the same priests rendering almanac in a span of one hour.
The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee and the APCC had arranged separate Jaya Nama Ugadi celebrations.
To the misfortune of the TPCC leaders, the priests supposed to participate in the celebrations gave the miss and were not reachable.
The APCC leaders, including Union Minister K. Chiranjeevi, former Minister Vatti Vasant Kumar, APCC chief spokesperson R.Padmaraju along with other leaders attentively listened to the Panchagam shravanam rendered by Chilkuri Srinivasa Murthy Sarma and his associates – Kunchibhotla Chandrasekhara Sarma and Madirala Kiran Kumar Sarma at Indira Bhava, its party headquarters.
Former PCC chief M.Satyanarayana Rao, who came to attend the celebrations at Gandhi Bhavan walked to the Indira Bhavan and participated in the Ugadi fete there. The chief priest said there would be bountiful rains and the bifurcation process would be completed without any hassles shortly and the differences would cease to continue.
As the programme was mid-way, TPCC leaders came to the Indira Bhavan and requested the priests to participate in the celebrations at Gandhi Bhavan before the auspicious time ends.
The priests rushed to Gandhi Bhavan and rendered almanac.
The essence of the message was the same there too. The programme was attended by TPCC vice-president Md. Ali Shabbir, TPCC manifesto committee chairman D. Sridhar Babu, Mr. Satyanarayana Rao and others.
