INTUC leader for US programme

Usharani Gara, general secretary (women’s wing), Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC), has been invited for the US government’s professional exchange programme — International Visitor Leadership Programme (IVLP).

The IVLP established in 1940, is considered to be the most prestigious professional exchange programme for international opinion leaders. Ms. Usharani along with Nageswara Reddy, MLA from Yemmiganur, Kurnool district, would be leaving for the US on April 4.

The two delegates from AP would visit Washington DC, Illinois- Chicago, Tucson-Arizona. “As the face of women’s wing of INTUC and as a general secretary of Indian Youth Congress, I am looking forward to the programme which gives a broad understanding of working of political systems in USA,” Ms. Usharani told The Hindu.
