Complete works before Oct. 15: AAI Chairman

Airports Authority of India (AAI) Chairman R.K. Srivastava on Saturday directed the concerned officials to expedite pending works related to the international airport at Tirupati, before October 15. Reviewing the ongoing works at the new facility, which would be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 22, Mr. Srivastava urged the officials to join forces together to complete the remaining works by the specified deadline as the premises would be handed over to PM’s security detail – Special Protection Group (SPG) by October 19.

The construction of international airport, which began in 2012, is coming up in 305 acres near Kurakalva area in Renigunta. Civil Aviation Secretary Rajiv Naveen Choubey, Additional Secretary Rahul Pandey, State Protocol Joint Secretary K.V. Satyanarayana, Chittoor District Joint Collector Narayan Bharat Gupta and other officials took part.
